Delivered in partnership with Holistic Wellbeing Hub, Grapple Warriors gave teenage boys and a key male figure in their lives the opportunity to learn jiu jitsu, build discipline, and foster a strong sense of belonging.

The programme took fathers and sons on a 12-month journey of jiu jitsu, mentoring, and personal growth, with a clear focus on strengthening male relationships through shared experiences. While the jiu jitsu training equipped participants with self-defence skills, the programme went beyond physical prowess, placing equal emphasis on physical and mental wellbeing. Boys and men were supported in a safe space for open dialogue around topics that impact their lives, including masculinity and mental health.

Eighteen sons and fourteen fathers remained committed throughout the programme, with many continuing their learning outside of sessions.

The year-long programme culminated in participation in the Grappling Industries tournament, where participants put their skills to the test and celebrated their progress together.
Across the competition, the group achieved eight medals in total: three gold, four silver, and one bronze.
