Our projects YIF projects Box Therapy Box Therapy combines boxing with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in a non-clinical environment, making support more accessible and relevant for young people who are often excluded from mainstream services and at risk of serious violence. Delivered in partnership with Be Inspired, the programme offered up to 12 sessions of support to 20 young people, with flexibility to extend to 20 sessions where needed. Referrals came through Croydon’s voluntary sector, social care, and youth justice teams, ensuring the programme reached those most at risk of crime, exploitation, and violence. Outcome data showed significant improvements in social and emotional capacity, communication, safety, and decision-making, alongside stronger relationships with peers and trusted adults. Over half of the young people continued their journey through Be Inspired’s wider programmes, building on their progress and remaining connected through positive community networks. With funding secured by Reedham Children’s Trust, Box Therapy is continuing for a second year, giving more young people the opportunity to build resilience, find belonging, and create safer, brighter futures. > Read about J's journey through Box Therapy.
